Land Rover’s announcement that it would be sending its iconic Defender off into the sunset in January had us cutting onions until around Valentine’s Day.
But thanks to bespoke British builder Overfinch, the Defender is getting one last ride.
To celebrate their 40th anniversary — and pay homage to the soon-to-retire icon — Overfinch is producing a super limited run of five individually numbered Defenders. The hoopties will ride on 18-inch alloy wheels and be powered by a four-cylinder diesel engine with a six-speed manual transmission.
The interior of the vehicles will be outfitted with Overfinch’s leather trim package, Recaro racing seats and special 40th-ann’y embroidery. Their exteriors will feature custom work that maintains the vehicle’s iconic body shape but also introduces “distinctive characteristics and a sense of purpose that make it unmistakably Overfinch.”
Priced at around $103,500, the last of the Defenders are set to go fast.
