Though the exact amount remains unknown, a ballpark figure of less than $10 million is what some assume Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid received from their settlement with the NFL for their collusion case.
The Wall Street Journal’s Andrew Beaton reported the news about both former players’ combined total grievances.
An important factor bolstering the notion that the settlement was less than expected is that Kaepernick remains unemployed, according to NBC Sports. Even when the Miami Dolphins were on the quarterback hunt and it seemed remotely possible that they would reach out to Kaepernick, they instead signed veteran journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick.
“The ongoing shunning of Kaepernick, notwithstanding the latest failed prediction, that Kaepernick would be signed within two weeks of the settlement,” NBC writes, “suggests that the league has no concerns about another collusion claim, or an argument that Kaepernick is the victim of retaliation for the filing of his prior collusion grievance.”
