Sling Sought

“If I wanted a Hummer, I would have asked your sister.”

That’s a bumper sticker that’ll grab some attention.

But as far as good attention, may we suggest … a three-wheeled, rocket-like motorcycle?

Seeking your attention, and everyone else’s: the futuristic, three-wheeled Slingshot, taking pre-orders now.

Designed by powersports vets Polaris, this space-age roadster is the first of its kind: a road-ready super trike for adults.

The specs are nice: 2.4-liter dual-overhead cam engine. One-hundred and seventy-three ponies.

So it’s zippy. In looks, too: the open-air cockpit features side-by-side seating, so your passenger isn’t relegated to the sidecar (aka the kids’ table of bikes).

And there are nice touches: it’s low to the ground (about five inches of clearance) with electronic stability controls and some hidden, lockable storage bins behind the seats.

Of the two models offered, you’ll want the upgraded Slingshot SL, coated in red pearl paint, with larger, 18-inch forged aluminum wheels up front (20 inches in the rear), blade windscreen, LCD media console, back-up camera, Bluetooth and a six-speaker audio system.

A little overkill never hurt anybody.
