Because every New Yorker needs to eat, and very few of those New Yorkers know how to cook, we present Table Stakes: a series that answers a man’s eternally recurring question (“Uh, what’s new?”) and recurs once every lunar cycle or so. Bon appétit.
New York City! A merry fracas of drinking and dining where an ostentation of bars and restaurants have opened since your correspondent began typing this sentence.
To keep tabs on all of them would be folly.
But to keep tabs on the most worthy? Yeoman’s work, and we’re proud to do it.
Thus we present Table Stakes, a monthly rundown of the five (or so) must-know spots that have swung their doors wide over the past month.
This month:
-
A woody boîte in one of our favorite hotels
-
An airy, decadent French brasserie from a Minetta Tavern vet
-
A neon-lit, female-filled outdoor nightclub on the water
And more. So dine on. And drink well.
