From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in LA is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your three-step itinerary to a damn good time.
This week: Spanish tapas and delicious cocktails. Here’s your plan.
Gant
Before hitting the town, stop by GANT Rugger’s new store on La Brea and peruse the checkered, lightweight button-downs, a collab with Michael Bastian. You’ll find ‘em hanging in the back left of the store. They’re ideal for tonight. Sharp, yet comfy enough that you don’t feel like you’re off to work.
smoke.oil.salt
Spanish tapas done over an open flame in an intimate red room with big windows that open to Melrose. That’s smoke.oil.salt, the new restaurant from the Umami guys. Make a reservation for a table near the window and order a bottle of Rías Baixas to go with the faves sacsaes (fava beans and blood sausage), then a bottle of tempranillo to wash down the wood-fired skirt steak.
Harlowe
By now she’s feeling rich, so take her to Harlowe Bar, the stunning new haunt from the 1933 guys (Thirsty Crow, Sassafras). With bottled G&Ts and Old Fashioneds on tap, plus a lip-smacking menu from Eric Greenspan (menu), Harlowe is a spot you’ll want to frequent. Tonight get the Rye the Long Face and an order of funnel cake bites.
