Here’s to the fried chicken sandwich.
Simple. Dependable. The Old Yeller of sammies.
And these guys are doing the chicken sandwich so very right: Leghorn, the new quick-counter chicken shack from the Element Collective crew, now open in the Ukrainian Village.

This is the kind of no-fuss joint that’ll rekindle your lust for the battered bird (which may have waned after the Poultry Palooza of 2013).
The menu is delightfully straightforward, with classic sides and daily specials like crispy skins and chicken-fried fries.
But you’re here for a healthy hunk of thigh or breast — golden, nubbly skin; tender, salty-sweet meat — all nestled under house-brined dill pickles between a bun or flaky biscuit.
Dress it up with extras if you like, but we prefer it naked with an extra helping of Leghorn’s secret chili sauce — a recipe that pays homage to Nashville’s legendary Prince’s Chicken. It kicks. Trust.
As for drinks: a primo selection of sodas and the option to BYOB. And while we’d love to linger, once they’re out of chicken, they’re out.
Meaning: arrive early and keep tabs on the daily bounty (which you can do here or here).
Simple as that.
