Because every man needs a plan, and some of us need that plan with pretty pictures, we present Where to Take Her: a series that answers a gentleman’s most pressing lifestyle questions and recurs whenever we get around to it.
This go-round: our picks on what to do around the city this November, from museums to comedy clubs to movies. Get out there.
Your Key:
American Hustle – Lawrence, Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper lead a ridiculous cast in David O. Russell’s tale of a ‘70s con-man in over his head with the mafia and FBI.
Grace of Monaco – Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly. Guaranteed to, er, earn you some brownie points.
Make Meaning – UWS. Pottery. Cake decorating. Candlemaking. Jewelry. If your kid isn’t entertained here, you’ve got bigger problems.
Museum of Sex – Flatiron. Criminally underrated. Cheeky fun for couples and surprisingly educational.
New Museum – Bowery. Currently on display: Chris Burden’s “Extreme Measures,” which features footage of the artist taking a bullet and one very precariously balanced car.
New York Comedy Festival – Citywide. Venues across the city host big names from Larry David to Stephen Colbert. Starts Wednesday.
Queens County Farm Museum – Queens. NYC’s only historic working farm, complete with hayrides, animal feeding and a giant corn maze.
Queens Museum – Queens. Reopening Saturday after a $68 million renovation, with everything from a massive scale model of NYC to classes on building your own remote-controlled drone.
Upright Citizens Brigade – Chelsea. Basically SNL‘s farm team. Hilarious improv from funnymen who aren’t household names yet, but probably will be.
Wolf of Wall Street – Leo Dicaprio as real-life ‘80s stock swindler Jordan Belfort. Features yachts, midget tossing, DiCaprio pop-and-locking.
