Dereliction of Beauty

“Rust bucket” is not a term one applies affectionately to one’s whip.

Unless you’re the bespoke vehicle company ICON 4×4, and you’re releasing a fully restored 1948 Lincoln Club Coupe at Art Center’s Car Classic on Sunday.

Affectionately referred to as a Derelict (for preserving that rusty antique patina – video here), this ‘48 Lincoln is one of a select number of retrofitted classics for sale from Chatsworth-based ICON, best known for its modernized Broncos and FJs.

As for the Lincoln, ICON left its voluptuous chassis and analog gauges intact, but digitally calibrated her innards and backlit the instrument panel with LEDs.

The engine: 5.0L Coyote.

The interior: leatherized.

The audio: digitized.
