What the well-dressed man in SF will be wearing this season. This is your Essential Fall Style Guide, Part Three: in which we recommend The Shoes.
The sneaker’s been getting much love lately.
With good reason: it grew up.
This fall, streamlined colorways and craft-forward construction are the wide-armed “welcome back” for the gent who’s long waffled on pasturing his favorite kicks next to the letterman’s jacket and Hypercolor tees.
Here are five of our favorites.
Greats Royale
With deer and calf leather on the upper and an Italian-made sole, it’d be hard to church these babies up any more without losing that classic-sneaker soul. The tasty chocolate tone is just sweetener. Buy online.
Wool sneakers. Laces optional. Head-turners for all the right reasons. ‘Nuff said. Buy online.
Blue leather with subtle embossing, the Vault version of the 59 somehow dresses up while remaining thoroughly laid-back. Kind of like you. Buy online.
Todd Snyder x SeaVees Army Issue High Top
In the transitional period from low- to high-top season, let Snyder’s twill be thy gateway. Gives off that “Benny the Jet” look with jeans and a baseball jacket. Buy online.
And from the “Everyone Has to Grow Up Someday, Even Sneakerheads” department: Supra’s pared-down, monochrome Vaider, which straddles the line between sneaker culture and adulthood with aplomb. The beloved structure and paneling remain, but the faddy soles and tween-friendly colorways get the axe. Buy online.
