Practice. It makes perfect. It’s how you get to Carnegie Hall. It wasn’t a priority for Allen Iverson – and last we heard he was playing basketball in Turkey.
So, we’re introducing a steakhouse that’s been practicing since 1827: Delmonico’s Kitchen, the famed meat mansion’s new Midtown expansion, open right now.
The original Delmonico’s was frequented by everyone from Charles Dickens to J.P. Morgan. But unless you’re downtown, it’s a trek. So now you can hit W. 36th St. to find nattily-tied waiters ferrying icy towers of lobster and oysters past the brass-railed marble bar, and serving sizzling platters of steak Delmonico. Which, steak fact — Delmonico’s invented. (view the dinner menu)
Delmonico’s Kitchen also does lunch – so if you require a Midtown power spot to enjoy bacon and bleu-topped iceberg wedges while seething over Paul Allen’s business card, you’re in luck. (this menu was made for power lunches)
Either way, a bottle from the wine humidors and/or specialty cocktails like the bourbon and earl grey honey-tinged “Chambers St.” should make an appearance. (guzzle down this drink menu)
Have two if you think you need the practice.
