Maybe you saw the BMW i8 Spyder concept when it first debuted at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.
Maybe you said, “How soon can I buy that?” We now have the answer: “The near future.”
That’s the word from BMW CEO Harald Krueger. The guys at Auto Express think the Spyder — now with an open-top upgrade — will show at next month’s CES, with “a production model likely to follow.”
It’s got a 1.5-liter gasoline engine working in concert with a plug-in hybrid power pack, which together will supply the chariot with 357 horsepower.
So yeah, it’s not Bugatti fast. But it’s beautiful.
And it’s the future.
