Here’s something more becoming: Chicago Folk, the quarterly lifestyle zine celebrating Chicago-made goods and the makers who create them, just launched for your edification.
One part print publication, one part online forum, Chicago Folk takes cues from both the digital and analog worlds: gorgeous photo essays coupled with chef spotlights, DIY instructionals and detailed artist profiles.
You’ll meet guys like Ben Hanisch, the local coffee-table impresario who we’ve covered here before.
Or Floyd Davis, owner of Artpentry Gallery and builder of vintage suitcase speakers.
Take a gander at their site for a full preview. Then expect Volume One to hit local stockists later this month (follow their Instagam for updates).
You’ll find Hanisch and Davis in there, along with a full host of creative hands-on prodigies keeping this city modest.
