In less than three weeks, AMC will raise the curtain on the final seven episodes of Mad Men. It’s been a helluva run, and rife with conflict.
Man vs. man. Man vs. himself. Man vs. lawnmower.
In observance of the end, get yourself to the Museum of the Moving Image’s “Matthew Weiner’s Mad Men” exhibit, now open to the public.
And dutilful friends that we are, we even swung by this weekend and put together a little primer for you.
On display: items from Weiner’s personal collection including notebooks, film clips that inspired the show and script pages from an early project that marked the genesis of one Donald Draper (né Dick Whitman).
Also, sets of the SC&P office as well as the Draper’s Ossining kitchen, and costumes ranging from Don’s suits to Megan’s slinky “Zou Bisou Bisou” number (God, it was good).
Weiner himself will even be on hand this Friday to discuss the “Required Viewing: Mad Men’s Movie Influences” screening series going on all this week at MoMI.
So mosey on over and have a gander.
