If you drove the Rolls-Royce Nautical Dawn into the water, it would sink like a stone, and you’d be out quite a bit of money. (In other words, it’s not a James Bond gadget car.) But the bespoke, customized auto, recently on display at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, is an actual car that was designed for a client in South Florida who apparently has a decided taste for the sea.
Working with interior designer Barclay Butera, the company tricked out the luxury automaker’s popular Dawn model, giving it the hue of the ocean’s waves and the look of a sailing yacht. The interior has “maritime” written all over it, with Arctic white–leather seats, offset by Navy blue highlights, and real teak wood paneling. (This would be the perfect complement to an adventure in Monte Carlo—or your own personal Monaco-themed superyacht.) Additional quirks of the Nautical Dawn include a handcrafted clock inspired by a Rolex Yachtmaster watch.
