To keep tabs on every Chicago restaurant and bar opening is folly. But to keep tabs on the most worthy? Yeoman’s work, and we’re proud to do it. Thus we present Table Stakes, a monthly rundown of the five (or so) must-know spots that have swung wide their doors in the past thirty (or so). Bon appétit.

February, like Rahm’s re-election campaign fund, was all about going big or going home.

Behemoth concepts. Big things from tiny spaces. Personal passion projects.

Wicker Park saw the arrival of Taus Authentic, a casual, French-leaning neighborhood eatery from Chef Michael Taus, who studied under Charlie Trotter and spent the last 20 years turning over tables at fine dining spot Zealous.

And new to a seemingly deserted stretch in Fulton Market: a grand hall of food and drink dedicated to the 1970s for your date-night pleasure.

You gotta see this place.

And a few others, which we’ve rounded up in our latest Table Stakes, your guide to the restaurants and bars most worthy of your time this month.

Also on deck: tacos. From Texas. So many tacos from Texas.

And a spot that might come in handy for St. Paddy’s Day.

So, let’s ring that dinner bell. Dine on, and drink well.

Enjoy the guide.
