Trio of Pro Skiers Conquer Alaska’s Chugach Mountains

America’s home to some incredible swaths of pristine earth that display the raw beauty of nature. That’s due, in part, to the government protections these lands receive. Among them, Alaska’s Chugach National Forest features some of the best heli-skiing conditions in the world. With 750,000 acres of skiable terrain and 700 average inches of powder snowfall each year, it’s not surprising why Zack Giffin, Santiago Guzman, and Piers Solomon headed there to do what they do best.

The trio soaked up the restive wonder of the Chugach Mountains at Alyeska Resort and Turnagain Pass, as part of DPS Skis’ film series The Shadow Campaign. Shot by Ben Sturgulewski and Dan Pizza, the short film, entitled Genesis, follows the skiers as they descend the orange-and-purple-hued peaks.

In place of a traditional narrator, the film features a vintage recording of “Theories on the Origin of Life” from Encyclopedia Britannica. The narration over the awe-inspiring shots creates a truly visceral experience. Watch the results below.
