The priciest houseboat in the U.K.—the so-called Matrix Island—is up for sale, and it cost six times more than the average London home.
Once an old steel barge that cruised the River Seine, it may not look like much from the outside, but its interior has been lavishly renovated to resemble a contemporary British flat. The 128-foot-long boat boasts 5,000 square feet of living space, and that’s just the dining and living rooms. Over two floors, the floating house also includes five spacious ensuite bedrooms, an office space with skyline view, a kitchen outfitted with state-of-the-art appliances, fireplace, and spa-style bathroom with a sauna.
The Matrix boasts a spacious upper deck that’s perfect for sunbathing, hosting parties, or launching the jet ski from its attached platform. For potential buyers with a family, the boat also includes an indoor foosball table, outdoor ping pong table, and trampoline. Now moored in the high-end marina St. Katherine Docks, the houseboat is located near landmarks such as the Tower of London and the London Bridge.
The Matrix Island has about a $22,600 annual maintenance fee that includes mooring charges and cleaning. The cost of the houseboat itself is $4.7 million. For more info, click here.
