If you thought Lana Del Rey was all buzz and hype and had no talent when she first broke onto the scene in 2011, you were sorely mistaken—and you still are.
Releasing the ultra-viral “Video Games” on YouTube before even having a major label deal, it became a slacker pop anthem and has been viewed over 150 million times. She followed that up with “Blue Jeans,” which raked in even more.
Five albums in, and she’s now headlining music festivals and still winning over new acolytes with her minimalist jams and breathy, ’60-chanteuse-like vocals.
Her fifth album, Lust for Life, has a street date of May 26, according to Metacritic. Listen to the newly released titled track, featuring The Weeknd (not to be confused with Iggy Pop’s raucous 1977 song of the same name).
