These elaborate “liquid ink art” masterpieces come out of the most commonplace of ingredients.
The vibrant colors burst from Brian Tomlinson’s works, appearing as though they may be colored ash clouds from an erupting volcano, rather than simply everyday substances.
By doing so, Brian challenges viewers to identify what images can be imagined when mixing one fluid with another.
“Each person sees something unique in them, depending on their imagination – and probably mood,” Tomlinson told Caters News.
“People pointing out things they see in them is a popular topic on my Facebook page.”
In order to shoot the series, entitled “Liquid Ink Art,” the English photographer drops milk, cream, oils and food coloring into a fish tank full of water before capturing high-speed shots with a flash.
