You might be seeing a lot more Teslas on the road by the end of the month.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company is rolling its first new Model 3 sedans off the production line and into buyers’ hands on July 28.
The Model 3 is the first of Tesla’s lower-cost models, retailing at just $35,000 before incentives. Per the company’s website, the model does about 215 miles per charge, does 0-60 in under six seconds, and has the forward-thinking Autopilot hardware.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk made the announcement early this morning via Twitter.

Musk followed that news up by tweeting that it looked like Tesla would be able to reach 20,000 Model 3’s per month by December.
As the Journal notes, the Model 3 release is part of Musk’s goal to bump total production up to 500,000 units next year to help make it a more competitive car brand globally.
