Every time a Dr. Dre single drops, an angel gets its wings. Or something like that. In other words, it’s not an everyday occurrence, so enjoy it while it lasts.
This past Sunday, during the airing of the first episode of HBO’s four-part documentary series, The Defiant Ones, which focuses on the lives of Dr. Dre and music mogul Jimmy Iovine, the longtime producer (and occasional solo artist) dropped a surprise new single, “Gunfire.”
It’s Dr. Dre’s first new music since 2015, and his rep told Rolling Stone that he doesn’t plan to release it commercially.
