The California home once owned by former President Richard Nixon has recently been put on the market.
La Casa Pacifica, often referred to as Nixon’s Western White House, is located in San Clemente, California, and was recently put on the market for $63.5 million, according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.
The home was built in 1926 and was purchased by Nixon in 1968 as his summer residence during his presidency where he entertained heads of state and Hollywood stars.
Decades before Nixon called it home, another famous U.S. president would be a frequent guest of original owner and financier Hamilton Cotton. In the 1930’s Franklin Delano Roosevelt would often use the estate as a retreat.
Sitting on the sprawling 5.45 acre property is a 9,000 square foot main house with four bedrooms and seven baths, a one-bedroom,one-bath pool pavilion,one-bath guest house and two guest apartments.
La Casa Pacifica permanently became Nixon’s home after the Watergate scandal and his resignation, until it was sold in 1980.
