Jennifer Lawrence is yet again the face of the Dior Cruise 2018 Ad Campaign. She has been the face of Christian Dior since 2012, and starred in their feminist-inspired campaign earlier this year.
According to the Daily Mail, Lawrence, 27, is dressed in a wide-brim hat with boho-themed ensembles for the desert-inspired high fashion photoshoot, which is reminiscent of Dior’s resort showcase.
The star of multiple movie franchises, such as The Hunger Games, wears minimal make-up in the shoot, which was photographed by Brigitte Lacombe, an ongoing House collaborator, according to The Daily Mail. She was “keen to portray the creations designed by artist Maria Grazia Chiuri, a champion of female art,” reports The Daily Mail. Lawrence has consistently spoken up about feminist issues, such as the equal pay in Hollywood, and modeled a t-shirt with the slogan “We should all be feminists” during Dior’s Fall 2017 campaign. According to The Daily Mail, Lawrence attended a dinner to discuss female equality last year and said, “One of the most important things for this movement is to get out of this mindset that we’re in a post-feminist era.” She said that term is damaging because it’s not true.
Maria Grazia Chiuri, Christian Dior’s artistic director, echoes Lawrence’s sentiments, and said she is going to continue to celebrate female art and use it within the brand’s advertising, reports the Daily Mail. She spoke about the shoot, saying she was inspired by the work of Georgia O’Keeffe, and she wanted to recreate the feelings O’Keeffee’s work gave her.
