The three UCLA basketball players arrested on Tuesday for shoplifting in Hangzhou, China, will most likely face 20 days of house arrest and then not be permitted to visit China again, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
A person familiar with the situation said the three players, LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, could potentially serve the punishment at the hotel — Hyatt Regency Hangzhou — where the UCLA and Georgia Tech teams stayed in Hangzhou.
The three were arrested for reportedly shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton store next to the hotel, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The teams are there to play in a game on Saturday in Shanghai. UCLA has confirmed that the three players caught shoplifting will not participate.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a UCLA spokesperson would not confirm nor deny the information, but it is cooperating with local authorities.
The players were arrested on Tuesday and released on bail. According to ESPN, once released, they returned to the hotel.
