Bjork fans now have a plethora of options to choose from when buying the singer’s next album, which now includes using digital currency.
You can use bitcoin, litecoin, dash, and AudioCoin to purchase the eccentric artist’s latest recording, reports The Independent. But if you don’t use any of those (or have never even heard of them), you are still able to use credit cards or PayPal.
The Icelandic singer is known for being innovative. In 2011, she released the album Biophilia in the form of an interactive app, and has received critical acclaim for experimental music. Her record label, One Little Indian, has partnered with London-based blockchain specialist Blockpool in order to allow bitcoin payments. The request originally came from fans.
Bjork’s new album Utopia goes on sale on Nov. 24. If you preorder, you received 100 AudioCoins, which is worth about 60 cents, that can be exchanged for digital currencies or used to buy more music.
Bjork is not the first artist to have this idea. Snoop Dogg tweeted back in December 2013 that his next record will be “available in bitcoin in delivered in a drone.”

A bitcoin platform, Coinbase, tweeted back in support, but the rapper has yet to follow through with his promise, according to The Independent.

Bitcoin is still not accepted by most major banks, but has been more accepted by retailers recently. Expedia started taking bitcoin payments in June 2014 and Microsoft users can use the currency to buy content in the Windows and Xbox stores.
