HBO is cutting ties with Louis C.K. in the wake of recent sexual misconduct claims, detailed in a new article by The New York Times. The comedian will be dropped from the network’s upcoming comedy special, Night of Too Many Stars, and his past projects will be removed from on-demand services, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
C.K. was accused of sexual harassment by five different women in The Times piece, who claim that the actor either masturbated in front of them or asked permission to do so.
“Louis C.K. will no longer be participating in the Night of Too Many Stars: America Unites for Autism Programs, which will be presented live on HBO on November 18,” HBO said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “In addition, HBO is removing Louis C.K.’s past projects from its On Demand services.”
C.K. worked with HBO on the series Lucky Louie, as well as the comedy specials One Night Stand, Shameless and Oh My God. He was expected to participate in the upcoming special Night of Too Many Stars, which will also include Stephen Colbert, Abbi Jacobson, Jordan Klepper and more, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
C.K.’s film, I Love You Daddy, was set for release on Nov. 17. But according to CNNMoney, the movie’s distributor, The Orchard, will not be moving forward with the release.
