The reward of a thing well done, the saying goes, is having done it.

Especially when you make beer.

Because then you drink it.

Here to help you do just that: Black Sands Brewery’s homebrew pop-up in the Lower Haight.

Your correspondent plans to get well knackered with their help.

Black Sands has all the gear and ingredients you’ll need, regardless of skill level.

More importantly, you’ll find guidance from their affable head brewer Cole Emde, a vet of the professional and homebrewing scenes who actually enjoys helping out the n00bs.

The supply store is just the first offering from the detail-obsessed team (Voyager, Ken Ken Ramen).

They’re busy readying their full brewery and bar, which’ll open in the same building later this year.

In the meantime, Cole’s keeping weekend hours in the shop, and they’ve opened an online storefront for your weekday browsing pleasure.

It’s lovely.

So get it done. Then get to drinking it.
