Sometimes the road to movie stardom takes an unexpected path.
That’s certainly the case for South Carolina native Matt Knowles, who played college football at Clemson and then moved to China more than 10 years ago to do humanitarian work. Thanks to his rugged good looks and Mandarin-speaking skills, he began appearing in television shows. Now, he can be seen in some of that country’s most noteworthy productions on the small and big screen.
In a video interview with the Wall Street Journal, Knowles traces his unorthodox journey from the gridirons of the American South to the studio lots of Beijing.
