Located just a stone’s throw from mainland Spain, the 220-square-mile island of Ibiza is known best by Americans for its non-stop party scene.
Throughout the glitzy Mediterranean destination’s high season, which runs from May to October, the population swells by over 1 million occupants. Most come in droves to dance the night away at one of the many mega clubs in the region, but a select set opts for something entirely different: absolute relaxation.
Once dismissed as a secondary part of the Ibiza experience, travelers have now found that relaxation to be an essential portion of their trip. And the new 7Pines Resort Ibiza, located on the island’s Sant Josep de sa Talaia in the North-West, is the first hotel property to fully embrace the idea that Ibiza is meant for more than just loud music.
Sitting along a secluded coastline and comprised entirely of spacious villa apartments – some that even boast their own plunge pools – the property offers a slew of top-notch amenities. In fact, it’s so well-appointed that the resort has earned a coveted spot among The Leading Hotels of The World, a select group of luxurious, independent properties that are required to offer the absolute best in order to maintain their membership within the elite organization. There’s a stringent 800-point inspection to earn that status.
At the 7Pines Resort, this elite status is evident in the form of the Pure Seven Spa, offering massages, facial treatments, and yoga, and a whopping three bar & restaurant concepts, all with their own unique menu and feel. Among them, there’s The View, a Korean-inspired eatery from the mind of Chef Bijendra Yadav, as well as The Pershing Yacht Terrace. Designed in partnership with the Italian purveyor of head-turning watercraft, the outdoor lounge offers a sweeping view of the island’s sunset, as well as a healthy list of innovative, often gin-based cocktails, all served from a bar inspired by the starboard side of an actual Pershing yacht.
But perhaps best of all, the hotel has real yachts too, available for charter by hotel guests. The fleet of three beautifully crafted Pershing confections all come packed with the bells and whistles necessary for the perfect, relaxing day at sea. Should a guest not find your way out onto the water, there’s an expansive pool deck, which boasts a translucent wall looking out past the cliffs, making it the perfect spot for an unobstructed sunset swim.
