Case Keenum is not anxious or nervous about his first playoff game. The Vikings quarterback is excited. He told ESPN that he imagines the emotions will be swirling before and during the game on Sunday, but right now, all he can do is picture the moment. Unlike the quarterback he is going toe-to-toe against, Keenum hasn’t done this before. All four games this weekend feature a quarterback with a lot of experience against one making his first or second career postseason start. Tom Brady has more Super Bowl rings than Keenum, Blake Bortles, Nick Foles and Marcus Mariota have playoff starts between them. We’ll see if Drew Brees’ 12 playoff games and nearly 4,000 career passing yards in the postseason will give him the advantage when the New Orleans Saints play the Vikings in Minnesota. Keenum has relied on his coaches, writes ESPN. He also received a text from Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner this week. But the QB isn’t letting the moment get to his head.
“For us, it’s just remember what got us here,” he told ESPN. “It’s the same game we’ve been playing the last time I checked and same field, same stadium, same amount of time.”
