The College Football Playoff is bound to be more interesting this year, thanks to some vast improvements to the system. But over the past three years, the margin of victory has been 25.3 points and only one game has been decided by fewer than 17. This season should be different. There are two semifinal games that are bound to be interesting: The Rose Bowl between Oklahoma and Georgia and the Sugar Bowl between Alabama and Clemson. The Rose Bowl will be interesting purely because it is a strange combination of teams in a strange location, writes The Ringer. Both teams also play very differently than each other. Who will come out on top? The Ringer predicts a close showdown, with Georgia winning, 38-31. Meanwhile, the Sugar Bowl pits the two best programs in the nation against each other. The Crimson Tide have only lost 12 times in the past eight seasons but Clemson has proved itself to be on Alabama’s level. The Ringer thinks Alabama will still get the win though and guess it will be Alabama 17, Clemson 13.
