Jerry Richardson, owner of the Carolina Panthers, is selling his team amid sexual harassment allegations, including claims that he’s been belittling women for years in various humiliating ways. However, the 81-year-old has found a pretty nice punishment for himself: raking in billions of dollars. The Panthers are valued to be worth at least $2.3 billion, and Richardson will receive all of it. He’s not the only man to get rich while perpetuating these offenses: Harvey Weinstein, Russell Simmons, Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer, Mario Batali, and more, have all been chased out of their professions because of the disgusting behavior towards women, but they have all remained very rich men. The victims, some of whom were employees of these men, receive nothing. Some of them, yes, received payouts from legal settlements, but not enough to fairly compensate for years of abuse and missed career opportunities. The New York Times reports that Richardson might be the richest of all the men accused in the #MeToo movement so far.
