Ever since Timex released an updated version of their Marlin watch, a relic of the 1960s that the brand thankfully decided was worth reviving, they’ve been steadily expanding the lineup, going so far as to release a Yankees model last week. As it turns out, people actually want mechanical movements instead of quartz.
One of the best models from this new lineup, the Marlin Automatic Day-Date, available in three equally worthy colorways including black, green and a brown-cream combo, is currently 20 percent off during Timex’s back to school sale — and so are dozens of other watches.
If you don’t need the day window on your timepiece, the simpler Marlin Automatic is also included in the sale in a more staid selection of colors. From the wider sale, there are a few Todd Snyder collaborations that get the discount, including the Beekman in both a leather strap as well as the more laissez-faire mesh band. But for those who liked where Timex was headed before they tapped into the larger menswear consciousness, the 41mm Navi XL is a no-funny-business option that still packs in some interesting details.
