Levi’s and Outerknown’s New Collection Gets Mother Nature’s Nod of Approval

Also, a recent venture by his earth-friendly menswear brand, it describes his new jeans as well.

Created as part of a partnership between Levi’s and Outerknown, the jeans and jackets in the new four-piece denim collection are made from single-fiber polyester and USA-grown cotton, and are fully recyclable down to the labels, and snaps.

The pieces in the Levi’s WellthreadTM X Outerknown capsule collection — which includes two rinses of 511 jeans and two Trucker jackets — were finished using 70% less water than standard denim processing at factories that participate in Levi’s Worker Well-being initiative.

Constructed to maximize durability, the jackets and jeans just the first example of a long-term collaboration between Levi’s and Outerknown that will regularly release seasonal collections.

“There is this false notion that ethical fashion can’t also be good looking or cool — that ethics and aesthetics can’t exist together,” said Levi Strauss VP Paul Dillinger. “Outerknown is helping us break that perception and show that we can make ethical, amazing-looking products that don’t sacrifice sustainability.”

Priced from $128 to $185, the collection is available online via Outerknown and Huckberry.
