As we head into September, InsideHook’s official start of layering season, there’s a good chance you’ll be mixing a bunch of seasonal activities: a crisp hike followed by a swim, or maybe some early morning fishing followed by bar hopping and a bonfire. Which means you’ll want to take full advantage of these technical layers from the new Howler Brothers release.
The Morel Seaglass Collection is a limited-edition, four-piece collaboration between Howler Bros and Huckberry — celebrating the 10-year partnership of the outdoor-minded clothing brand and popular retailer. Due to the finite nature, one of those pieces (a snapback hat) is already sold out, but you’ll still be able to nab our favorite autumnal layers.
The most essential piece of the collection is the Chisos Jacket, a sherpa fleece zip-up in a morel (as in mushrooms) brown with black and orange accents. In T-minus two weeks, everyone you know is going to be donning their fall fleece (at least on nights and weekends), so you’d do well to pick up something that’ll set you apart sartorially.
The beefiest layer of the line is the Voltage Quilter Pullover, which takes its name from the unique lightning-bolt quilting. The mid-layer hoodie will quickly become your default weekend-adventure staple thanks to lightweight PrimaLoft insulation, various zippers and bungee closures for retaining the heat or letting it out, and a versatile front kangaroo pocket with a top zip entry. And finally, there’s the H Bar B shirt, a standard short-sleeve button-up with some not-so-standard details, like a handsome sea glass print and western-style pearl snaps.
Now that you’ve got your wardrobe, make sure you snag that fall Airbnb before everything’s booked.
We've put in the work researching, reviewing and rounding up all the shirts, jackets, shoes and accessories you'll need this season, whether it's for yourself of for gifting purposes. Sign up here for weekly style inspo direct to your inbox.
