Jesse Vargas is a champion welterweight boxer who will fight in front of his biggest audience ever when he takes on Manny Pacquiao on November 5. This video looks at the training he did on the way to the WBO title.

Boxers, of course, have a unique challenge: they need to be in peak physical condition for a fight… but they have to reach peak physical fitness while making a weight limit that, quite frankly, may not be ideal (or even healthy) for their bodies. Beyond being a solid introduction to the likable Vargas, this video shows how he approaches eating to ensure he’s able to reach these nutritional goals.

Additionally, Vargas likes to maximize the benefits of training by doing it in Nevada’s Mount Charleston, with its altitude of over 7,500 feet. Watch the full video on Vargas’ dieting for this elevated elevation and his general training below.
