Romance, it’s been said — usually by someone cry-eating three-star Yelp sushi — is dead.
But then that someone probably hasn’t been taken to The Inn at Park Winters: a gabled, white-as-heaven Victorian manse in the North Bay, taking reservations now.
This is a classically romantic B&B for much-needed R&R. Strictly a couples destination, for when that couple needs alone time.
An hour-and-a-half north of the city near the foothills of the Putah Creek Reserve, The Inn’s located smack-dab in the middle of sunflower-rife farmland.
On hand: fountains, 166 square yards of swimming pool and a three-story luxury watertower suite.
Regarding locale:
Due south you’ll find the wine and steak rich town of Winters, best known as the last stateside home of R. Crumb.
To the west: Lake Berryessa and a bevy of watercraft for hire.
And remember: romance isn’t dead. But it could stand to lay off the delivery for a while.
