The First Great NYC Outdoor Movie Club

Things outdoor movies in New York lack:

Good sound.

Reasonable seating options.

Easy access to cocktails.

Solving every one of those concerns: The Rooftop Film Club, a new sky-high film series starting in June, with tickets on sale starting, uh … right now.

Rooftop’s honed their game in London for four years.

For their U.S. debut, they’re setting down — or rather, up — on the roof of future-is-now YOTEL New York (they of the monsoon rain showers and “techno walls”).

This is not your sardined Bryant Park moviegoing experience.

Four nights a week, Rooftop will present an array of new and classic films on the Hell’s Kitchen hotel’s terrace — which, at 7,000 square feet, is the largest outdoor hotel space in the city.

For the same price as a ticket to the Avengers, every moviegoer will get wireless headphones and a comfy deck chair, with access to cocktails and — score! — tacos.

On the schedule: Ghostbusters, Manhattan (natch), Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Birdman, The Usual Suspects and many more.

Great for dates. Groups. Solo outings. (Note: Tuesdays will be “Chick Flick Tuesdays.” Attendance at your discretion).

Shows start June 3rd. Tickets are on sale today.

Early, yes, but they’ll go quickly.

Summer movie season never looked so good.
