After a wild pop-up run in Williamsburg last year, the Brooklyn Night Bazaar and its attendant neon tomfoolery are back in a permanent location every Friday and Saturday. And it’s a helluva date night. Here’s how you do it.
The Bazaar’s neon-lit food court features a rotating cast of grub vendors – you’re looking for three things:
1. A truffle butter and caramelized shallot grilled cheese from Morris Grilled Cheese (for her).
2. The best damn brisket sandwich in NYC (it’s called a “Deckle”) from meat masters Delaney BBQ (for you).
3. A pumpkin pie soft-serve with cinnamon and nutmeg from Ample Hills Creamery (to split).
And a couple of cold beers from the roving cooler man, naturally.
You’re going to be enamored of the handsome woody hi-fi systems of Well Rounded Sound, the jaw-dropping handcrafted furniture of Brooklyn-based roguebuilt, and the occasionally NSFW photography of Victor Spinelli. She’s got enough clothing and jewelry options to last all winter. Everybody wins.
In addition to graffiti ping pong and a black-lit mini golf course, the Bazaar boasts live music every weekend. Three acts you should not miss:
Fri, November 15th – Tragedy, the “all metal tribute to the Bee Gees,” assisted by Guns N’ Hoses, AKA five gorgeous girls covering GNR. This will rock.
Sat, November 30th – Relaxed indie hip-hop from Kool & Kass (watch them feed chickens and tote machine guns).
Fri, December 20th – The melodic shoegaze of our new favorite band, Sisu – like My Bloody Valentine, if My Bloody Valentine had an attractive Asian frontwoman who sounded like Kim Deal (behold their percussive, weirdly waterlogged video).
