Petersen Automotive Museum
Miracle Mile
The Petersen Automotive Museum is made to look like a hot rod, with 308 ribbons of titanium veiling the actual building. Whether or not Miracle Mile’s newest museum is an eyesore or a beaut is debatable. Not up for debate: the three floors inside — home to 100 automobiles from throughout automotive history — are indeed impressive. Kids of all sizes will enjoy the 10 XBox Forza racing simulators, along with the Precious Metals exhibit, which this month focuses on silver cars like the 1959 Corvette Stingray Racer.
Blue Ribbon Sushi
Beverly Grove
Yes, Blue Ribbon is at The Grove. But they have this Santa Barbara uni that’ll make your eyes roll back in your head. Plus, you can avoid all of that Grove nonsense by entering at the back entrance on 3rd Street, right across from the Ross, where you can also valet your whip.
This is a service entrance, and the walls are painted by local graffiti artists. You land in the Blue Sushi’s new back lounge, where the mood is way more chill. Have a couple of drinks here and then head to main dining room, where the sushi is seasonal and caught daily. Get one of their famous fried chickens for the table. Sake. Beer. Repeat.
