Bill O’Reilly has repeatedly blamed the politically motivated media for the sexual misconduct allegations that led to his being ousted from Fox News. But now, during the latest episode of his web series No Spin News, O’Reilly also said he’s “mad at God.”
“You know, am I mad at God? Yeah, I’m mad at him,” O’Reilly said, according to CNN. “I wish I had more protection. I wish this stuff didn’t happen. I can’t explain it to you. Yeah, I’m mad at him.”
O’Reilly has denied all claims of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior, and has said that his wealth and fame make him an easy target for the accusations, reports CNN. He has also repeatedly said that the media who is reporting on the allegations and settlements are “corrupt” and “desperate to take him down.”
Over the weekend, The New York Times reported that O’Reilly reached a $32 million settled with a former Fox News colleague who accused him of sexual misconduct. His comments about God came on Monday night, and he also said that if his adversaries “could literally kill me, they would,” according to CNN.
“If I die tomorrow and I get an opportunity, I’ll say, ‘Why’d you guys work me over like that? Didn’t [you] know my children were going to be punished? And they’re innocent,’” he said, according to CNN. “But then I think about people who have it much, much rougher than me. And you know, I’m a big mouth. I’m a target. They’re not targets.”
