Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of them. Today: a keychain for your mask, Birkenstocks made of Birkin bags and collegiate-themed Rowing Blazers x NBA collab.

Converse

Converse x Carhartt WIP Chuck 70

Workwear meets vintage sneakers in this cool collab between two iconic brands. Available, although disappearing fast, in brown and green/camo, these kicks are based on ’70s-era Chuck hi-tops.

Giftbird

Giftbird

Sometimes, it’s OK to send a card. For Valentine’s Day — or any day, really — this recently-launched app allows you to send animated video and “creative interpretations of traditional greeting card themes” crafted by local indie artists from around the world. You can also personalize the messages with your own photos.

Craft Irish Whiskey

Emerald Isle Collectible Whiskey Set

Wanna try the oldest triple-distilled Irish whiskey in the world? It’ll cost you. The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. collaborated with Fabergé on this seven-piece custom-made whiskey set, which celebrates the ‘Seven Wonders of Ireland’. Each set contains features two bottles of 30-year-old Irish whiskey, two exclusive creations from Fabergé, a humidor with two  Cohiba Siglo VI Grand Reserva cigars, a gold-plated cigar cutter, gold-plated water pipette, pure obsidian whiskey stones, a hip flask with a sample of the Emerald Isle whiskey,  a carafe filled with Irish spring water from the same region where the whiskey was made. You’ll only be able to get these at private auctions throughout the year (the first sale will see 100 percent of the proceeds go to charity).

Kentucky Pearless

Peerless Rye Aged in Absinthe Barrels

Peerless was one of our favorite whiskey releases of 2019. Now, the Kentucky distillery is collaborating with Copper & Kings on this unusual pairing, which sees a straight rye whiskey aged in barrels that held absinthe. Licorice, spice, citrus and oak are the notes you’ll pick up here.

Clarks

Clarks Wallabee Coral Combination

Your summer shoe is here early. A coral upper pairs nicely with a contrasting mint green rubber sole. But don’t listen to us … listen to this satisfied but hard-to-understand consumer on the Clarks site: “Banging crep, versatile, perfect for calm one on a day out in a tier 2 where you’re not from & perfect for kicking heads in too when you’re told to leave.”

RAD X Parc Eames Chair

If you want a classic Eames Lounge Chair, you can pick up a brand new one that looks straight out of an episode of Mad Men for around $6,000. If you want the essence of that timeless design but don’t want to feel like you’re checking off some outdated masculine checklist, there’s this super limited-edition vintage Eames with — no, your eyes aren’t deceiving you — custom ombré leather. It’s an unexpectedly enticing collaboration between creative agency Reed Art Department and furniture restorer Parc, which you can read more about here. And when we say super limited-edition, we mean only three of these beauties are available — for sitting or simply showcasing.

J.Crew

R.M. Williams X J.Crew Gifford Boots in Leather

We’d like to give a shoutout to J.Crew for introducing people to R.M. Williams who may not have otherwise known about this essential Australian outfitter. They’re in the business of making top-of-the-line Chelsea boots, and actually making them in Australia. For this collab, they’re offering two exclusive leather colors to J.Crew, which doesn’t seem too exciting, that is, until you slip them on.

Flying Embers

Flying Embers Bubbly 4pk

This bubbly kombucha brew from Flying Embers looks like a party in a box — a keto-friendly, vegan, gluten-free party in a box. Fermented with real botanicals and champagne-style yeast and aged in Chardonnay wine barrels, this four-pack of Bubbly boasts toasty aromas and a crisp, clean finish. And with zero sugar and zero carbs, you’ll wake up feeling just as bubbly as you were the night before.

Filson

Filson Alcan Collection

For its first moto-specific collection ever (yeah, we’re surprised, too), Filson wanted to provide gear for riders who take their bikes off the asphalt. The standout is a waxed-canvas riding jacket with ballistic nylon, but they’ve gone beyond their typical wares with a few purpose-built bags and even a Bell helmet. All of the gear was tested on a 500-mile ride on the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route, which you can get a taste of in a short film they put together with moto mag META.

Todd Snyder

Todd Snyder x New Balance 992 “From Away”

They may have sold out within minutes (actually, one minute to be exact) but you can still appreciate Todd Snyder’s latest collaboration with New Balance, the 992 sneaker dressed in camo. The “From Away” sneakers were inspired by the New York designer’s recent trips to Maine, hence the camouflage (the same pattern was featured throughout Snyder’s collaboration with L.L.Bean, also inspired by Maine), which is contrasted against a butterscotch suede and red and tan leather accents. Sitting atop a thick white sole, it’s the ideal “cool dad” sneaker, and it’s easy to see why it sold out so fast. Better luck next time.

MSCHF Birkinstock Shoes

Over the past few years, Birkenstocks have garnered the favor of those in the fashion industry, going from once ugly duckling to fashion darling, even earning collaborations with brands like Valentino and Proenza Schouler along the way. But the brand’s latest collaboration is its most luxurious and high-end yet — and it doesn’t even come from the brand. Brooklyn collective MSCHF released what they’ve deemed “The most exclusive sandal ever made” in the form of their Birkenstock-esque sandal, featuring a leather upper crafted from chopped up Hermès Birkin bags. Thus, the Birkinstock was born. We don’t know whether to be horrified at the thought of a hacking away at a Birkin or impressed that someone had the balls to do so. All we do know is that we want a pair.

Onda

Onda Sport

We’re big fans of Shay Mitchell’s canned tequila soda brand Onda, and now the laidback, beachy alcohol brand has launched a new apparel category: Onda Sport. The line features a comfy French Terry Washed charcoal sweatsuit with a raised puff lime green ink, drawing inspiration from ‘90s surf culture for a California-cool type vibe.

Matador

Matador Keychain Mask

Modern problems require modern solutions — which is why travel brand Matador has given us a convenient travel tool to ensure we have our face masks at the ready. The Keychain Mask is a comfortable, lightweight mask that features elastic earloops with a silicone adjuster for a perfect fit, and it neatly fits inside a silicone keychain that can be easily attached to your keys, bags and zippers.

Farfetch

R.M.Williams Yard Boot 365

Two noteworthy R.M. Williams drops in one week? We’ll take it. Here, the Australian footwear masters are offering their Yard Boot 365 in three new colors — burgundy, grey and dusty ochre — exclusively at Farfetch. And why should you care? Because this style was dreamt up by none other than legendary designer Marc Newson, the mind who brought you that Apple Watch you’re currently wearing. In fact, these boots would pair nicely with that ubiquitous timepiece.

Rowing Blazers

Rowing Blazers x NBA

In a surprising collaboration, the cult clothing brand known for its preppy streetwear and the National Basketball Association have released a line of clothing and accessories. You can find cotton sweaters, rugby shirts, hoodies, trousers blazers, belts, duffel bags and more — all laden with the NBA’s emblem, along with logos from the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors.
