Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of them. Today: headphones you can fall asleep in, music-inspired flannels and good-looking oval-shaped roasters.

Everlane

The Heavyweight Overshirt

Rarely have we met a shacket we didn’t like, so it’s only natural that we find ourselves smitten with Everlane’s new Heavyweight Oxford. At first glance you might mistake the piece for a flannel, but closer inspection reveals an 8-oz. heavy cotton twill, twice the weight of the brand’s Japanese Oxford Cloth. The heavy fabric is ideal for crisp fall days, thrown over a t-shirt or sweater, allowing for warmth and coziness without proving too burdensome, thanks in part to the relaxed, casual silhouette. Available in six colors, it’s a cool- (and cold-) weather essential if we’ve ever seen one.

Smithey Ironware

Smithey Ironware Carbon Steel Oval Roaster

Smithey should always be on the top of your list if you’re looking for American-made cast iron cookware, but with this roasting pan they’re branching out into the world of carbon steel, a material that performs similarly but isn’t so ridiculously heavy. Even more so than traditional Smithey pieces, this is heirloom-quality as each one is hand-forged in Charleston, South Carolina. Skip the cupboard and just hang the Oval Roaster in the middle of the kitchen.

Huckberry

Flint and Tinder Flannel-Lined Waxed Hudson Jacket

Huckberry’s in-house brand inches closer to Barbour territory with the new Hudson jacket. They seem to have started with their perennial favorite Flannel-Lined Waxed Trucker Jacket then built in a little more utility, a little more sophistication and a heavy dose of British heritage. The latter comes by way of the waxed canvas, which is sourced from textile manufacturer British Millerain (est. 1880), and the flannel lining, which is from the Abraham Moons mill (est. 1837).

Under Armour

UA Sportsmask

Earlier in the summer, Under Armour dropped one of the first “sport” masks capable of limiting air droplet transmission when you’re working out. A ton of performance tech went into it. The brand cycled through multiple prototypes before settling on “hyper-breathable polyurethane open-cell foam” (which is science-speak for a mask you can actually run in). Naturally, once the exercising public caught wind of the mask, it sold out almost immediately. But it’s officially available again as of this week. And this time around, UA also dropped three new colors. In addition to the original black colorway, you can now pick it up in gray, navy and red.

Noah

Noah x Barbour

Heritage lifestyle brand Barbour, most famously known for their iconic waxed cotton jacket, and New York City-based label NOAH have unexpectedly joined forces for a new Autumn/Winter 2020 Capsule Collection. The collection combines all the handsome qualities and high-craftsmanship found in Barbour’s outerwear, with the vibrant colorways and patchwork we love NOAH for. Unfortunately, most of the capsule is sold out, but you can still snag a couple of graphic cotton tees with a “Who Cares If It Rains?” slogan on the backs (for now).

Bose

Bose Sleepbuds II

Not for streaming music, Bose’s Sleepbuds are small, wireless earbuds designed to mask your outside environment and help you drift off to sleep with soothing, pre-recorded sounds. Now available for pre-order, the next generation of Sleepbuds, the Bose Sleepbuds II, features a faster, more reliable Bluetooth connection, a lighter, long-lasting battery, a larger library of noise-masking sounds and no more pillow squeaking.

Eddie Bauer

Eddie Bauer X Sub Pop Flannel Shirt

Two Seattle brands — Eddie Bauer and Sub Pop Records are releasing four limited edition cotton flannel shirts just in time for fall. Available in Barn Red, Black, DK London and Gray, the flannels pay homage to the independent label and Seattle’s original “grunge” music scene, along with, of course, the rugged outdoorsman, Eddie Bauer.

Garmin

Garmin Venu Sq Smartwatch

With a sleek design sure to complement any attire, Garmin’s Venu Sq GPS smartwatch will also monitor your heart and wellness, help you plan workouts, track your activity all while keeping you up to date with text messages, calls and social media alerts.

Huckberry

Huckberry x Danner Logger 917 Boots

Huckberry is back this fall with another collaboration with Portland-based Danner, this time offering an exclusive Goldrush edition of the Logger 917 boots, the color named after the waterproof Golden Ore leather that serves as the upper. While these are inspired by logging stompers of yore, they’re a decidedly versatile option thanks to a durable Vibram sole that makes it feel like a sneaker.

KEF

KEF LS50 Meta and LS50 Wireless II

British audio brand KEF recently announced the LS50 Meta and the LS50 Wireless II — two updated versions of their LS50 and LS50 Wireless speakers. The speakers are the first loudspeakers to use KEF’s new Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), a synthetic material the brand claims can absorb up to 99% of unwanted back wave distortion. Starting at $1,5000, the stylish loudspeakers are available in carbon black, titanium gray, mineral white and a spicy limited editon crimson red.
