Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of them. Today: Limited edition Dunkin’ holiday merch, handsome penny loafers and our favorite Outdoor Voices fleece is back in stock
Adelante Shoe Co. Luca Penny Loafer
Every man should own a pair of classic brown penny loafers. Stylish, versatile, timeless. Adelante does them right — each pair is sewn by hand to order by skilled Guatemalan craftsmen (all of whom are paid over the Living Well Line) from full-grain leathers, lined with calfskin and Goodyear welted. Our favorite colorway is the mahogany (pictured), a deep brown that will look smashing with a pair of cuffed jeans and woolly socks this season. That being said, Adelantes are fully customizable, so live your life. Oh, and for a limited time every pair on the site is 20% off.
Sardel Olive Oil + Balsamic Vinegar Pair
Known for top-quality cookware (we’ve extolled the virtues of their 4QT saute pan in a previous installment of this very column), Sardel has recently augmented their offering with something to put in those pots and pans — namely, this one-two punch of olive oil sourced from centuries-old Coratina olive trees in Puglia, Italy and balsamic vinegar from a family in Modena, Italy that’s been at it for three generations. Both are delicious, both are addictive, both should be added to your pantry immediately.
Serge Ibaka x Nobis “Mafuzzy” Scarf
Here’s the deal: when one of the NBA’s best-dressed players whose notorious “scarf off” with a teammate begat the term “big scarf energy” drops his own collab scarf and said scarf has his bizzarro-yet-heartwarming nickname on it, you should seriously consider getting that scarf.
Burton Mine 77 Puff Puff Slipper
Burton’s biannual Mine 77 capsule collections (originally developed personally by founder Jake Burton Carpenter and now under the stewardship of his son Timi) tend to sell out real fast. Innovative technical design + eye-catching fabrications + limited-edition quantities = gear you need to jump on while the jumpin’s good. Thus we suggest you cop these ultracozy slippers posthaste — with a cushy footbed and embroidered baffled upper, they’re like two little puffer jackets for your feet, complete with a durable rubber sole that makes them every bit as good for strolling a snowy parking lot as kicking your feet up in front of the fire. Pro tip: pair ’em with the Japanese-inspired split toe socks.
Richard Podgurski Photography “Retro Deck” Skateboards
Photographer Richard Podgurski captures gorgeous, color-rich snaps of his native southern California, any of which would make for a pleasing addition to your wall. Recently, however, he began printing said snaps on custom skateboard decks, which would make for an even more pleasing addition to your wall, or a pleasing addition to your skateboard quiver if you’re the type of guy who enjoys slaloming from place to place.
Outdoor Voices MegaFleece Snap Sweatshirt
After some very long months, Outdoor Voices’ highly anticipated MegaFleece Snap Sweatshirt is back in stock. The fuzzy outer layer is made from 63% recycled wool MegaFleece fabric and includes a super roomy kangaroo pocket you can conveniently keep your phone, keys and hands inside. The pullover retails for $138 and is available in classic black, as well as more adventurous colors like vine and oatmeal.
Dunkin’ Merch
For a fleeting moment, there was hope in the world. On Tuesday, Dunkin’ (formally and, for the real ones among us, still known as Dunkin’ Donuts) had launched limited-edition holiday merch. Before it quickly sold out, we imagined ourselves romping around our homes in the majestic Dunkin’ Treat Yourself Bathrobe, cooking up something delish in the Calling All Foodies Apron and sleeping peacefully under the Dunkin’ Duvet Cover. While much of the apparel, accessories and home goods are sold out, you can still cop some Dunkin’ Scrunchin’ Hair Ties or customizable hats, longsleeves and more.
Roark x Danner Axeman Jacket and Ridge Boot
The Ridge Boot from Oregon-based Danner and the Axeman Jacket from California-based Roark are two menswear staples you may already be familiar with, but in a new collaboration, the companies have teamed up to bring their own flair to the other’s signature product. They were both developed to be worn during a film shoot on Alaska’s Aleutian Islands (with our old pal Chris Burkard, no less), which translated to a hardwearing waxed-canvas layer and pair of suede and full-grain leather boots that are selling fast. Did we mention they’re also made in the U.S.?
Buck Mason RC Denim Blanket Trucker
Lined with a warm wool blend blanket-like material, this Buck Mason indigo-dyed cotton denim Trucker Jacket is looking to be the next staple jacket in your cold-weather wardrobe.
Lululemon Double Strap Face Mask
Lululemon, like so many other activewear brands out there, has just released its own face mask. The non-medical mask includes double adjustable straps and is made with a smooth, sweat-wicking fabric with four-way stretch. Priced at $10, the mask sold out quickly, but keep your eyes peeled for a re-stock.
Snacks Holiday Shop
Featuring beloved snack brands Cheetos, Lay’s, Doritos, Tostitos and Smartfood, Snacks.com’s Holiday Shop has all the limited-edition holiday merch you need to give the perfect gift this year. Find fuzzy socks, festive sweaters, beanies, adult onesies and more all boasting your favorite dusty goods.
New Balance® x J.Crew 997 10th Anniversary Sneakers
In celebration of a decade of collaborating with New Balance, J.Crew has teamed up with the brand to create an exclusive pair of the iconic 997s. The pair features a largely gray color scheme with tonal accents and a black accent on the heel. The specific colors were chosen to mark the anniversary, as the tenth anniversary is marked with tin. Other subtle accents that hint at the anniversary include an embroidered “x” on the heel (as in the number 10) as well as a co-branded footbed and 3M® speckled laces.
Neighborhood Spot x Casa Magazines Tee – Complex Shop Exclusive
For Complex SHOP x Neighborhood Spot’s ongoing partnership to aid local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, the proceeds from this graphic tee will be used to support the survival of Casa Magazines — an iconic, independently owned NYC business the New York Times once called “the last king of print.” The 100% cotton tee’s design dons the masthead fonts of all the different iconic New York publications Casa carries.
Filson Rail-Splitter Selvedge Jeans
These USA-made straight-cut fit Filson 5-pocket jeans are crafted with a durable Japanese selvedge denim and feature a metal shank-button waist closure, double-layer pocket bottoms and double-layer-reinforced rear pockets. A heritage jean made for the long haul.
Kith and Kin Winter 2020 Collection
With its 2020 Winter Collection, streetwear brand Kith is headed into the woods: Long shearling patchwork coats, cable mock-knit sweaters, spruce cardigans, plaid shirt jackets and more festive wares. You’ll also find a range of capsules with Bergdorf Goodman, Converse, Pendleton and Diemme.
Hot Ones x Reebok
Reebok has teamed up with your favorite YouTube series, Hot Ones, for a smokin’ three-piece sneaker collab. The collection includes the Club C, Reebok Classic Leather and the Reebok Shaqnosi — all donning their own Scoville rating, ranging from “mild” to 1,995,000 units. The collaboration also includes two relaxed-fit graphic Hot Ones tees.
Madewell x Hedley & Bennett
Consisting of three new aprons (and matching potholders!) the collection melds Madewell’s laid-back aesthetic with that of Hedley & Bennett’s highly functional, highly durable designs. The resulting aprons lend the wearer immediate style cred, thanks to the bold design and patterns, without hindering their cooking capabilities. So go ahead and make the cook in your life feel (and look) like a true chef with one of these aprons (and accompanying potholder, of course). Besides, even if their culinary skills leave something to be desired — or are nonexistent altogether — at the very least they’ll look good while cooking.
