Good for you, good for the rivers you're rowing

Kickstarter recently launched a campaign called Kickstarter Gold, tapping some of their most successful entrepreneurs and makers to, well, make some more stuff.

Among the lot, Oru Kayak — which, after testing their collapsible watercraft  on the Devil’s River in Texas, we have a soft spot for.

Their new campaign, the Bay ST, is an updated version of the mid-sized kayak they launched on Kickstarter in 2012. It falls between their river and wave rider Beach LT (which we tested) and the longer touring Coast XT.

At twelve feet this boat is great for backcountry adventures and fishing. Even better, it folds up to the size of a card table and comes with a pack that lets you hike to remote locations. It takes ten minutes to assemble and, for those who donate now, is available with a snazzy green tree printed on the bow.

Oru also used their new Kickstarter campaign to announce that they’re working with 1% For The Planet, a charity started by Yvon Chouinard that donates one percent of profits to organizations fighting the good fight for ma’ earth.

That sounds like gold to us, too.
