Love Tuscan wine and rolling hills, but hate Leonardo da Vinci?
Have we got the property for you!
Sitting on six acres in the city of Chianti in Tuscany, Italy, this nearly 13,000-square-foot home was once owned by Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, who bought the villa in 1549 (it remained in his family until 1867).
For $9.3 million, you get 10 bedrooms, seven bathrooms and the history of Western art as influenced by “the Divine one,” which was one of the many nicknames given Michelangelo because of his mastery of the arts.
The current owner retains copies of the home’s original documents and deed, and has put some work into restoring the home to represent its historic significance: vaulted brick ceilings, grand fireplaces and terra cotta floors inside, flowers, stonework and manicured courtyards outside.
