Hard to believe that hotel-killing hospitality brand Airbnb has been delighting and disappointing weary travelers for 10 years already.
Accomodations on the site range anywhere from extremely shabby and dirty to breathtaking and eye-wateringly expensive.
To celebrate a decade in service, the brand has announced Airbnb Plus, a curation of listings that meet a 100-point quality control list designating standards for everything from amenities to cleanliness to provisions. The initiative is an effort to make the brand even more mainstream, thus appealing to customers who want the predictability of larger hospitality brands that look more or less the same around the globe.
Airbnb Plus begins its tenure with over 2,000 homes in 13 cities from Shanghai to L.A., but plan to grow that number to 75,000 by the end of the year.
