Pamela Anderson first made waves when she appeared on the cover of Playboy back in 1989. Since then, she has become an actress, a mother, and soon, an author. Anderson teamed up with old friend and photographer Luke Gilford for an impromptu photoshoot in Saint Tropez, and sat down with W Magazine to dish about feminism, animal rights activism, family and more.
Anderson is wearing all Stella McCartney in the shoot, who Anderson calls “a trailblazer.” Though she’s always been interested in fashion, she has re-emerged at fashion shows because her two sons are models. Though Anderson says they are doing it “just for fun,” Brandon’s an actor and Dylan’s a musician. Anderson didn’t want her sons in this industry because they’re both smart and got into great schools, but she says that they are handling it well because they have been surrounded by “all this their whole lives.”
Anderson says that she is an activist and has an entire section on her website dedicated to her writing. She is not doing it for herself, and hates when people say that she’s “finally doing something with her life” or “you’ve finally grown up.”
“I’m doing it for animals and people who are vulnerable and can’t speak for themselves,” Anderson told W, adding that she’s been an activist since she was a kid.
Anderson is currently writing a book titled The Sensual Revolution, about desensitization.
