NASA InSight Lander Touches Down On Mars After 7 Minutes of “Terror”

After 7 minutes of silence, the lander spoke.

After seven agonizing minutes of radio silence, NASA’s InSight lander has touched down on Mars sending a signal to everyone here on earth letting us know she’s safe and sound.

Researchers, however, still have reason to be anxious with another 24 hours to wait in order to confirm that the lander has deployed its solar panels.

The lander arrived seven years to the day after the launch of the Curiosity rover.
