Every so often, we all get tired of the Manhattan scene.
Wanna get out. Go. Vamoose. Hightail it someplace new.
That someplace used to be Brooklyn.
Now it’s Marfa.
This according to The Collective Quarterly, a gorgeous coffee table mag that celebrates wanderlust (beginning with a tribute to Marfa, Texas), officially launching tonight with a party at DUMBO’s Modern Anthology.
First off: buy yourself a copy of Collective Quarterly’s debut “Issue Ø” — watch their video to get a feel.
Inside: travelogues from The Quarterly team, who “slept in teepees, met a saloon keeper who wears an eyepatch, even took a rowboat across the Rio Grande into Mexico.”
They documented every step in eye-popping photographic detail.
Second: get thee to tonight’s soirée, where TCQ founders (an artist, a writer and a photographer) will be raffling off framed prints, copies of the mag and other swag over ice-cold Shiner Bocks.
The next TCQ’s topic hasn’t been announced, but who knows, you could be chosen to go exploring with the founders — they take fellow artistes on the road with them to give readers a glimpse into the creative process.
Here’s to getting the hell out of dodge.
Or at least, for one night, to DUMBO.
